One of the most important parts of building a thriving, sustainable wedding business is understanding exactly who your ideal client is.

When you know who you’re targeting you're able to build your business, messaging and services around attracting and serving a very specific group of people....your perfect fit, dream people.

By doing this work as early as possible, you'll save yourself months, if not years of wandering in the dark trying to be everything to everyone.

If your target market is everyone, you will likely struggle to attract clients who want to work with you, and who you’re excited to work with yourself.

When you clearly understand who your ideal client is, you’re freed up to learn how you can serve them to the best of your ability.

As you zero in on crafting messaging and content that speak directly to your ideal client, you’ll inevitably begin attracting them. 

It will also help you weed out those people you don’t want to work with (which is equally important when it comes to running a business you love!)

A Simple Approach to Identifying Your Ideal Client

There is lots of advice out there on this topic and I don't want to beat a dead horse, so we're going to keep this very simple.

There are THREE primary questions you want to ask yourself as you set about discovering who your perfect fit client is:

1. Who are they?

It's important to breakdown the basics of exactly who your ideal client is. The better you know them, the better you'll be able to speak to them, reach them and draw them in.

2. What do they want?

At the end of the day, your clients want you to show up and deliver a spectacular experience for them. Part of knowing your ideal client is knowing and understanding what exactly it is that they want. 

3. How are you prepared and positioned to uniquely serve them?

Lastly, you need to take into consideration how exactly you are equipped to serve your ideal client. Knowing what will be uniquely appealing about you will help you leverage that as you work to attract the right clients.

Again, the point of all of this is to make sure everything you do in your business is with the purpose of targeting your specific ideal client so you can make sure your business is bringing in the kind of business that you want.
